Manchester United vs Arsenal: Arsene Wenger has some pretty terrible memories from previous trips to Old Trafford… SunSport remembers them all

Frenchman claimed last season's 3-2 loss was his "worst feeling" in 20 years in charge of Gunners - but we think there are many more he may have forgotten

ARSENE WENGER claimed Arsenal’s 3-2 loss at Manchester United last season was his “worst feeling” in 20 years at the Gunners.

Are you sure Arsene? There have been some other pretty dire efforts at Old Trafford.

As Arsenal prepare for Saturday’s trip to Manchester, SunSport’s Football Editor CHARLIE WYETT gives the Frenchman a reminder of some of his previous visits.

Man Utd 6 Arsenal 1

ONE of Arsenal’s greatest humiliations. With no Tony Adams, Martin Keown or Lee Dixon in defence, Wenger’s tactics were to attack United.

It backfired. Dwight Yorke hit a hat-trick in the first 22 minutes. Roy Keane, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Teddy Sheringham also scored.

Man Utd 2 Arsenal 0

ARSENAL’S 49-game unbeaten run ended and also featured the Battle of the Buffet.

United won a controversial pen when Wayne Rooney was accused of diving. Ruud van Nistelrooy scored the penalty and Roo grabbed the second.

In the tunnel afterwards, Jens Lehmann squirted water at Alex Ferguson but also an Arsenal player — believed to be Cesc Fabregas — threw pizza at the United boss.

Man Utd 8 Arsenal 2

WORST defeat for Arsenal since 1896. A complete and total embarrassment.

Wenger fielded Armand Traore even though the player knew he was joining QPR the next day — and this summed up an absolute shambles.

Rooney grabbed a hat-trick and Ashley Young struck twice. Gunners’ Carl Jenkinson was sent off as United fired home five in the second half.

Man Utd 3 Arsenal 2

THIS bitterly-disappointing loss for Wenger saw his team fall away in the title race.

Marcus Rashford scored twice in three minutes to put United on their way, and it left Arsenal five points behind Leicester, who went on to win the title.
