BRAZILIAN legend Dani Alves is leading a list of big name footballers on a new app that could change the way supporters engage with star players.
Juventus defender Alves has joined a host of other international heroes using the which has just launched across the globe.
The ex-Barcelona ace has teamed up with Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho, Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo, Leicester captain Wes Morgan and SunSport columnist Ian Wright in backing the new service.
OurField promises increased opportunities for football fans to stay in touch with their favourite players – and even have genuine conversations with them bringing them closer than ever to their heroes.
The network is the brainchild of Swiss tech guru Dr Urs Aebischer, who has spent the past 20 years helping develop technology tools to enhance the social media experience.
And he believes the time is now right for players and clubs to start to make the most of their reach to a global audience by taking themselves on to a new platform that exceeds what other networks can offer.
Unlike on the traditional services such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, players will be able to share in the profits generated by OurField, driving them to make all their news, views and videos available on the new app before anywhere else.

Dr Aebischer said: “All the players have a huge global reach, with followings up 20 million plus across the social medias, but none of them are sharing any of the revenues.
“What OurField does is provide a service for players and clubs to have a share of the income achieved from their worldwide reach.
“But it can also provide a better experience for the user, who can see the opinions, pictures and videos the players publish all in one place – and before they are seen anywhere else.
“Not only that, we have developed a chat functionality that brings the functions of WhatsApp to the platform, allowing fans to interact with players in a way they have never been able to before.
“As the platform grows, users will be able to hold group conversations with the players and other fans and get closer to the stars than ever before.”
Keep up to date with ALL the latest football news, gossip, transfers and goals on our page plus fixtures, results and live match commentary
The app, which translates automatically into eight languages, has just been launched on both iOS and Android and is free to download.
Users can then choose between three tiers of membership depending on the service they are looking for – the basic being free, where they can view player posts, Premium, where they see player messages earlier than elsewhere, and Platinum where they can get exclusive messages from the stars.
The Premium service will cost $1 per month, with the Platinum costing $10 a month.
Players themselves will be able to choose which level of membership they want to view their posts, giving them more control over their social media choices.
Dr Aebischer added: “All my experience in social media has shown that for anything to succeed a platform needs two things – a great user experience and excellent content.
“The app is designed to bring the best aspects of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter into one place, with the added functionality of the enhanced chat facility.
“The players are already providing great content, but at the moment they are doing it across a range of different platforms.
“OurField allows them to continue doing this all in one place, and the ability to get closer to the supporters by holding conversations with them enhances the content offering.
“Key also is we have filters in place to restrict abusive posts, making the experience better for the players and the users.
“And unlike other platforms, there is not intrusive advertising that can put users off. It is a far cleaner experience for user and player.”
OurField is available to download now in the App Store and on Google Play.
