England vs Scotland: Darren Fletcher racks the heat up ahead of Wembley showdown warning crowd will turn on Gareth Southgate’s side
Scots skipper is steeling himself for an early onslaught - but believes capacity crowd will grow restlessi if visitors keep them at bay
DARREN FLETCHER ramped up the heat on England as he warned the Wembley crowd could turn on Gareth Southgate’s side.
The Scots skipper is steeling himself for an early onslaught from Wayne Rooney and his Three Lions.
But Fletcher, 32, said: “I’ve watched England games at Wembley in the past and you can hear the uncertainty if they’ve not scored after 15 or 20 minutes.”

Winger Robert Snodgrass claimed in Wednesday’s SunSport he believed many England fans want their side to FAIL.
West Brom midfielder Fletcher added: “Wembley won’t be a nice place to play if it’s not going well for England with that many people in the stadium.
“Hopefully it happens again this time because that’s something we can use to our advantage.
“We saw when we last played England in a friendly at Celtic Park, they came out all guns blazing. Led by
Wayne Rooney, they were at it 100 per cent.
“So let’s not think that all the passion will be coming from Scotland.
“England know how big a game this is and they are under pressure because it’s not been going too great for them lately.
“A bit of unrest from their supporters is something that might help us the longer the game goes on.
“Everyone expects England to win but we believe we can get a result the same way Celtic beat Barcelona or West Brom beat Manchester United and Arsenal.
“This game isn’t decided by the most valuable XI.
“Talent alone takes you so far, desire takes you further and if you can win six or seven of your individual battles then you win the match.”
