CRISTIANO RONALDO has been named the best player in La Liga last season.
And it was further cause to celebrate - with the ink still drying on his mammoth £500,000-a-week contract.
The Portuguese ace beat Lionel Messi to the award having netted 35 goals and provided 11 assists for Los Blancos, who finished runners-up to Barcelona.
There were other Marca-sponsored awards dished out, with Atletico's Diego Simeone named the best boss in the division and Jan Oblak and Alvaro Morata also scooping gongs.
Ronaldo bagged the Alfredo di Stefano award, having also struck 16 times in Europe as Real became European champions for the 11th time in their history.
He then went and helped his country to their first-ever major trophy by beating hosts France in the Euro 2016 final.
