GARETH SOUTHGATE is set to be named England’s next permanent manager, according to reports.
The Under-21s boss replaced disgraced Sam Allardyce on a temporary basis in September for World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia.
Southgate was also tasked with overseeing upcoming fixtures against Scotland and Spain, but claims he will land the Three Lions job on a full-time basis barring any disasters this week.

It's claimed the FA have already told other candidates that the interim chief will take total control after the Spain match.
They're said to have been extremely impressed by Southgate's handling of dropped captain Wayne Rooney, and know that victory over Scotland will set England well on their way to qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
However, Southgate is facing an injury crisis ahead of Friday's game after seeing Tottenham ace Dele Alli ruled out with a knee problem.
