The damning evidence why Manchester United will not win the Premier League this season…because they don’t run enough!
Jose Mourinho's men have under performed so far this campaign and are in danger of falling too far behind the current leaders
THESE are the damning stats about Manchester United’s season — and Jose Mourinho’s reign.
Fans have been scratching their heads at why it has all gone wrong, from Mourinho’s living arrangements to the role of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
But the indisputable fact is simple: United are not running as much as other teams.

The most worrying stat is that EVERY single Premier League team ran more in the first 10 games of the season.
This is the United who won title after title with a flourish but built on solid hard work.
Now they are getting outrun and over-run as the top flight gets quicker.
And it will not be easy for the United faithful to see Liverpool at the top of the running charts — putting in an extra SEVEN MILES per match under Jurgen Klopp.
It backs up fears Mourinho is relying on sight instead of technology when it comes to assessing his squad.
Klopp, Pep Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino put their faith in GPS when it comes to looking at work-rate.
It is understood Mourinho goes with what he sees on the training pitch when it comes to picking his team.
Zlatan, at 35, may not run as much as Harry Kane but his place is assured as Mourinho has never subbed him during a match.
Tottenham’s matches against Manchester City and Bournemouth have been highlighted as examples of how football is speeding up. United, though, have been stuck in second gear with their last Prem victory coming over champions Leicester in mid-September.
The Europa League defeat to Fenerbahce on Thursday night angered Mourinho more than any other. He accused his side of being asleep again at the start when Moussa Sow scored the opener.
That left them open to ridicule - after announcing Mlily as their "first ever Official Mattress and Pillow Partner"!
It happened at Chelsea, too, when they were behind in the first minute.
Chris Smalling had to play at the Bridge after a massive injection in his foot and within a minute was at fault when Mourinho’s former team opened the scoring.
While running is the big problem, other issues behind the scenes have hit Mourinho’s reign — bigger than him not relocating from London and living instead at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester.
Most of his staff joined him at Old Trafford but he is missing Jose Morais, who has started his own managerial career and is now at Greek side AEK Athens.
Morais looked after opposition tactics for Mourinho since his spell at Inter Milan, with the fellow Portuguese coach the man the Special One bounced ideas off.
And United certainly look like they need fresh ideas after going three Premier League matches without scoring.
Other problems include injuries at the back as United have had three left-backs in the starting XI in their last two games.
None of United’s big-money signings have stepped up, with world record £89million signing Paul Pogba struggling to impose himself in games and Henrikh Mkhitaryan failing to impose himself even in the squad.
Anthony Martial has been a £58m flop, too, with his agent blasting United for giving the Frenchman’s No 9 shirt to Zlatan.
His agent Philippe Lamboley said: "The decision was disrespectful and misplaced."
United will be looking to turn the corner, starting with today’s clash against Swansea.
Midfielder Juan Mata said: "We need to show personality, especially when we have defeats.
"After that there are very difficult days until the next game so we need to show personality and we need to play well together.
"We need to show the fans passion on the pitch. It’s good for us to talk about all we have to do but where we need to talk is on the pitch."
Until they start winning, the problems will mount for Jose, with some pundits expecting his job to come under pressure.
Former England winger Trevor Sinclair said: "It’s a giant club and the expectancy is always huge. If you don’t win things the pressure is on for any manager.
"Jose has lost a bit of his stardust. He’s thrown his players under the bus and maybe they are not reacting to him."
