Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho’s birthday post to his daughter is a special one

JOSE MOURINHO may be struggling at Manchester United but showed he is a special dad with a heart-warming birthday message to his daughter.

Matilde turned 20 on Friday and the Portuguese, who is living away from his family in a Manchester hotel, used his Instagram account to mark the magicial day.

The under-fire United boss posted two pics on his Instagram.

He captioned the first, a black and white image of his daughter with her mother, Matilde, with the simple message: "Happy Birthday Tita 4-11-1996."

The Mourinho posted an old family holiday pic which shows him sat beside a hotel swimming pool with his then baby daughter Matilde.

He wrote: "Time flies and the love grows."

Mourinho is on the brink of overseeing United's worst ever start to a Premier League season - just 12 months after being in charge for Chelsea's worst opening to a campaign.

Thursday's Europa League defeat at Fenerbahce was their fifth of the season.

And if they lose to Swansea on Sunday United will remain on 15 points, one less than they had after 11 games under Louis van Gaal in 2014-15.

And Mourinho's life off the pitch has also been miserable as he recently revealed he has been away from his family since taking the reigns at Old Trafford.

He is living out of a suitcase in Manchester's Lowry Hotel, while his wife, daughter and son Jose jnr are in London.

Last week Mourinho complained: "For the first time the family lives in a different way.

"We try to feel it, we try to see how we cope with the situation.

"The reality is that my daughter will be 20 next week, my son will be 17 in a couple of months.

"They are very stable. University in London. Football in London. Friends.

"So they are in an age where they can’t chase me like they did before. So for the first time the family lives in a different way."
