Lee Chung-Yong is set to continue on the left wing after being preferred to Andros Townsend against the Reds.

Lee replaced Pape Souare who faces a long spell on the sidelines after being involved in a car crash last month.

Townsend has told Pardew that he wants to play on the right flank – but he is unlikely to beat in-form Wilfried Zaha into the side after the former Manchester United man set up Palace’s second goal last weekend.

After that loss, Pardew said: “He saw me and said he wants to play on the right.

“He said he could do more when we played him there last week and Wilf was terrific there today, so I've got a tough call.

“The left side of our team is missing Pape Souare who gives us the balance of a left foot so that's another area I need to work on, but it's not a problem - Chungy did OK in that role.”

Left-back Stephen Ward was forced off at half-time in Burnley’s 0-0 draw with Manchester United last Saturday and remains a doubt for Palace’s visit – with on-loan Liverpool full-back Jon Flanagan set to deputise.

Belgian midfielder Steven Defour will undergo a late fitness test after recovering from a hamstring strain.

Stats

  • Burnley have won just one of their last six league games against Crystal Palace (D2 L3), including neither of the two Premier League meetings between them (D1 L1).
  • Crystal Palace's 3-2 victory at Turf Moor in 2014/15 ended a run of seven trips there without a win in league competition (D4 L3), while they have never previously won back-to-back away games at Burnley.
  • These two sides have met on six occasions in the top-flight, with Burnley winning four of those clashes (D1 L1). All four of the Clarets' victories came between 1969 and 1971, however.
  • Crystal Palace have kept just two clean sheets in 21 visits to face Burnley in all competitions.
  • Jason Puncheon has been directly involved in two of Palace's three Premier League goals against Burnley (one goal, one assist).
  • Burnley have run further than their opponents in all 10 Premier League matches so far this season - the only team to have done so in every game.
  • Sean Dyche's side have allowed their opponents 52 more shots on target (71) than they have attempted themselves (19) this season in the Premier League - the biggest differential in the competition.
  • Tom Heaton has had to make 57 saves in the Premier League this season; 21 more than any other goalkeeper.
  • If matches ended at half-time this season, Crystal Palace would be bottom of the league with just six points (W1 D3 L6).
  • Jason Puncheon has missed 13 Premier League games for Crystal Palace since the start of 2013-14 and the Eagles have won none of these (W0 D3 L10).
  • Christian Benteke has scored against 20 of the 28 different teams he's faced in the Premier League, but Burnley are one of the eight that he's yet to score against in the competition.
