INTER MILAN suffered their fifth defeat in 11 league games to leave Frank de Boer looking for a new job.

They failed to kick on from beating Juventus in September, leading to the Dutchman’s fate being sealed this morning.

De Boer's strained relationship with his players was highlighted when Eder snubbed his manager's offer of a handshake after being substituted.

Meanwhile, Gonzalo Higuain inevitably decided the game of the weekend against his former club.

Juventus ‘welcomed’ Napoli in a meeting of last season’s top two — but the game was all about the £75million-Argentine striker facing his old club.

Leonardo Bonucci pounced on defensive mishap to rifle the home side ahead with a superb strike after a cagey first half.

But Napoli refused to lie down and found an equaliser just four minutes later through Jose Callejon.

But the last word went to Higuain who finished from the edge of the box and, despite having been mercilessly jeered throughout, refused to celebrate.

The result temporarily put the Turin giants five points ahead of Roma, who could only make up a point in their clash at Empoli.

The Gialorossi were frustrated as the match finished 0-0.

AC Milan, who also failed to kick on from beating Juventus by immediately losing at Genoa, went back to winning ways with a narrow victory over Pescara,

Giacomo Bonaventura scored the game’s only goal four minutes into the second half.

Aside from that blip in Genoa, Vincenzo Montella’s men are flying and sit just five points behind the leaders.

Lazio took advantage of Napoli’s defeat to climb above them into fourth after a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo.

Senad Lulic and Ciro Immobile put Simone Inzaghi’s men in control — and they held on after Gregoire Defrel pulled one back.

Joe Hart’s Torino are now without a win in the three after a 2-2 draw at Udinese.

Marco Benassi opened the scoring for the away side, but Cyril Thereau and Duvan Zapata flipped the game on its head.

Adem Ljajic, who left Torino with ten men during their midweek defeat at Inter to use the toilet, salvaged a point.

Atalanta moved up to sixth with a 3-0 victory over Genoa — and Fiorentina kept their faint Champions League hopes alive with a 1-0 win at Bologna.
