HE’S made no secret of his desire to take up coaching once his playing days are over.
But Chelsea captain John Terry seems to have already started as he led the warm-down after the 2-0 win over Southampton on Sunday.
The former England skipper previously revealed he was studying hard in order to get his coaching badges using all the knowledge gained under tactical masters such as Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti.
And Terry is putting it all to good use under new boss Antonio Conte despite losing his place in the starting XI.
The 36-year-old was snapped with a stopwatch in his hand in an empty St Mary’s as he dished out instructions to the likes of Willian and Michy Batshuayi.
Calling the shots will aid Terry in his development as a backroom staff member, and it seems extremely likely he will be offered a role at Chelsea when he decides to call it a day.

Terry has less than a year remaining on his current deal and has made it clear in the past he will not play for another Premier League club.
But the veteran will find it hard to win back a starting spot following Conte’s switch to a 3-4-3 formation.
Each centre-back needs a good amount of pace for the formation to work, and Terry’s performance in the 2-1 EFL Cup defeat to West Ham showed he could struggle to adapt.
