Pep Guardiola treated Manchester City to a boozy night on the town

PEP GUARDIOLA will never manage Barcelona’s bitter rivals Ream Madrid – even after he is finished with current club Manchester City.

The proud Catalonian has spent most of his life trying to beat the Bernabeu side but his desire to coach the world’s best clubs - and preference for changing sides regularly - has led to him being linked with arguably the hottest seat in world football.

He said: "I am Barcelona supporter. Real Madrid wouldn't suit a coach like me, nor would I suit Real Madrid."

Guardiola is currently enduring the worst run of his coaching career with City without a win in their last six matches.

Captain and talisman Vincent Kompany can’t get match fit, after demanding to be subbed in the League Cup defeat to Man United, and heroic striker Sergio Aguero is suddenly being linked with a transfer away.

But the former midfielder says his side is on the right track – though some recent decision making has been poor – and they will turn it around.

He said: "We're taking it game by game.

“We need to win as soon as possible and for this reason, the next game is the most important.

“My players haven't played any game without passion, without trying to win until the last minute.

"Lots of circumstances haven't helped; first our actions on the pitch, that perhaps were not the best to win games, but many decisions and many situations too.

“We have to change it as soon as possible, we cannot give up.”
