MARK WARBURTON came under more pressure from fans as his Rangers side were held at home by St Johnstone on Wednesday.

The Gers boss is under the spotlight after a poor start to life back in the Scottish Premiership and this 1-1 draw did not help ease the strain on the former Brentford coach.

Following the Old Firm defeat in the League Cup on Sunday, his side still appeared to be suffering as slipped further behind their bitter rivals in the SPL.

The full time whistle was met with a chorus of jeers from the majority of the 46,563 in attendance.

And it could have been much worse for Warburton and Rangers if it wasn’t for Joe Garner’s late equaliser to cancel out Blair Alston’s early strike.

As SunSport exclusively revealed, Warburton has emerged as No1 target for Wigan to replace the sacked Gary Caldwell.

While his side continue to struggle, fellow Glasgow giants Celtic seem to be racing away with the title again as a late surge saw them thump Ross County 4-0.

Patrick Roberts fired the Hoops into the lead after only three minutes.

Brendan Rodgers’ side had to wait until the final ten minutes to stretch their advantage, with Stuart Armstrong, Scott Sinclair and Moussa Dembele rounding off the victory.

That result puts Celtic seven points clear of second place Aberdeen with a game in hand, and they are nine ahead of neighbours Rangers.
