Many feel Mourinho overreacted to the situation, with the ex-Blues boss guilty of rubbing it in people’s faces numerous times.

But Del Bosque reckons Mourinho had a point, explaining he too was unhappy with Conte’s reactions when Italy dumped Spain out of Euro 2016 in June

He said: “It did not seem like a wrong message from Mourinho to Conte.

“Sometimes [Conte] has to be a little more considerate when he celebrates victories. I was also hurt when we played against Italy.

“I’m not saying don’t express joy, there’s no need to be as dull as me, but express a moderate joy.

“It is not that I am a defender of Mourinho, but he had a point.”
