Manchester City vs Manchester United: Red Devils stars arrive at lonely Jose Mourinho’s luxury retreat ahead of EFL Cup derby
Old Trafford boss gets some company after complaining that he misses his family because they are living down in London
JOSE MOURINHO may not like life living out of a suitcase at a luxury hotel - but at least he only has a short walk to give his team talk ahead of tonight's EFL Cup clash with Manchester City.
United's lonely boss is still staying at the Lowry hotel in the city centre five months after arriving at the Old Trafford club.
Mourinho described his current situation as a "disaster" and understandably revealed he is missing his wife Tami and two kids Matilde and Jose Jnr, who are living in the capital.
However, at least he enjoyed some company this afternoon as he was joined by his Manchester United players.
The Red Devils host Pep Guardiola's City side tonight for the second time this season.
And Mourinho's mood will not be made any better if they suffer the same fate. United lost 2-1 to their rivals in the Premier League last month.
With United's Premier League form suffering so far this season, Mourinho will be keen to progress in the League Cup.
He will be without Eric Bailly and Marouane Fellaini for the game. Bailly suffered knee ligament damage in Sunday's crushing 4-0 defeat against Mourinho's former club Chelsea.
The 22-year-old central defender, who cost £30million from Villarreal in the summer, is likely to be out for two months.
Fellaini is also struggling with a knee problem. Wayne Rooney 31, is a major doubt as he missed the Chelsea game with a slight thigh strain.
Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are fully fit and should feature.
