Dream Team World Cup: Brazil’s star players, potential flops and bargain options
BRAZIL are the pre-tournament favourites for a reason.
So it's absolutely no surprise to see Dream Team World Cup bosses selecting Tite's troops in their droves - despite a tricky group in the form of Cameroon, Serbia and Switzerland.
The main questions are: who to pick from their embarrassment of riches in attack, who to avoid, and is there a bargain option among the expensive superstars?
STAR PLAYERS
There's only one place to start and that is with talisman Neymar.
The PSG star has admitted not being totally convinced he'll take part in the next World Cup, meaning a potential final shot at glory for the 30-year-old.
With an extraordinary 75 goals and 54 assists in 121 caps, he'll again take centre stage for Brazil and could rack up a imposing points total from the group stage alone.
Only Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe and Harry Kane are more expensive than Neymar but some would put him on par with those names and may back him instead to save £0.5m to invest elsewhere.
Elsewhere, last season was a real breakout year for Vinicius Junior and he's carried that on in all competitions so far this term with ten goals and five assists for Real Madrid so far.
Crucially, the talented youngster has been generously categorised as a midfielder, making him an even more enticing option.
Thiago Silva is among the most-expensive defenders but it's easy to see why.
The 38-year-old veteran is his country's captain and will marshal the troops at the back while his attack-minded team-mates express themselves in the final third.
Brazil have kept plenty of clean sheets recently.
POTENTIAL FLOPS
As remarkable as it is to say given his club form, Gabriel Jesus might be one to avoid.
His overall play alongside his five goals and six assists have transformed Arsenal into genuine Premier League contenders.
But prior to a goal against South Korea in his last outing, he went twenty appearances without a goal for Brazil.
Richarlison is likely to start at centre-forward having scored goals for fun at international level this year.
4.6% of Dream Team World Cup bosses have picked Ederson but that looks to be an error as Alisson is likely to be first-choice goalkeeper.
The Man City custodian may get a go at some point but he's worth staying clear of in the world of Dream Team World Cup.
BARGAIN OPTIONS
Brazil players generally come at a cost but Alex Sandro could offer good value for money.
The Juventus man will probably start at left-back and his £4million price looks reasonable when you consider Thiago Silva and Marquinhos cost £5.5m each.
Just 3.5% of gaffers agree so far, meaning big points could be headed to a small number of managers if he's given the nod.
