ANDRES INIESTA will miss at least 12 games for Barcelona including November's Champions League clash away to Manchester City.

But the news comes as a boost to the Catalan club, with initials fears the Spanish playmaker would be out for the rest of the season with knee ligament damage.

Speaking after the game, boss Luis Enrique said: "Iniesta? It was a piece of very clear play, in which there wasn't a yellow card.

"I can't tell if it's a serious injury, he'll certainly be out for weeks, but tomorrow we'll learnt he extent of the injury."

Iniesta will also have to sit out Spain's World Cup qualifier against Macedonia on November 12, and their friendly against England at Wembley three days later.

Barcelona's 3-2 win away at Valencia was marred not only by Iniesta's injury, but a number of other incidents.

Lionel Messi appeared to shout obscene language towards the home fans after team-mate Neymar was struck on the head by a bottle.

It is alleged he ranted: "The c*** of your mother, son of a thousand w*****!" when translated from Spanish.
