TV money from the likes of Sky and BT Sport has seen the worth of England's top flight rocket — and it is now reportedly valued at more than double the Champions League and Europa League combined.

Contract renewals for Modric and Toni Kroos — as well as the expected signatures of Lucas Vasquez, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale — will cost Real Madrid a staggering £28million-a-year.

Isco’s future is still unclear, but is also thought to have a contract offer on the table.

Vasquez is seen as the future of Real Madrid but, such is the competition for place in attack, it is seen as imperative to tie him down on a long-term contract.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid were also forced to extend Yannick Carrasco’s deal from 2020 to 2022 — and increase the Belgian’s release clause to £90m.

The Spanish capital pair are in desperate need to keep their players, due the transfer embargo hanging above their heads.

Intense pressure due to interest from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain also saw Barcelona agree to pay Neymar an incredible £275,000-a-week.

The Bernabeu giants were are thought to be willing to match United’s bid for Paul Pogba in the summer, but passed up the opportunity to sign him because of his high wages.

Ensuring better deals for their current stars was seen as a bigger priority.
