Cristiano Ronaldo is undergoing his worst slump in a Real Madrid shirt after four goals in eight games – but how unusual is this for the Portuguese star?
Superstar has always been unstoppable in the white of Madrid but perhaps we are seeing the beginning of the end
IT says something when scoring four goals in eight games is regarded as a slump.
But Cristiano Ronaldo is no ordinary footballer - and for him, that is a meagre return for a player who has averaged more than a goal every game during his time at Real Madrid.
The Portuguese superstar, 31, was again luckless in front of goal against Legia Warsaw last night - despite taking NINE shots in the 5-1 mauling.

Let's take a look at some of the key stats - and why this is so unlike the Madrid star.
Overall, he has struck 262 goals in 224 appearances since his world-record switch from Manchester United in 2009.
This season, Ronaldo has two goals so far in La Liga and two in the Champions League.
He's spent a total of 678 minutes on the pitch, so he's averaging a goal every 169 minutes.
For mere mortals, that's a fine return. But for Ronaldo, that's not normal.
Take last season, where for his club he turned out for 4,294 minutes in domestic and European competition.
He scored 51 times in those games - a goal every 84.1 minutes, around one a match.
The season before, it was the same story, when he averaged a goal every 71.7 minutes.
And the year before that? A goal every 72.4 minutes. You get the picture.
It's early days this season, but Ronaldo's goal return for Madrid has almost halved in relation to his previous five campaigns.
Let's not forget that he has five goals in two games for Portugal - but Andorra and the Faroe Islands are hardly up to the calibre of the teams he faces week in and week out.
Boss Zinedine Zidane is not worried however and revealed following the Legia game that he doesn't feel the need to speak to Ronaldo over his missed chances.
He explained: "No I didn't say anything to Cristiano. It is true that sometimes we expect a lot from him.
"We almost expect him in these games to score three or four goals. He has created many chances but could not score.
"What matters is that he has given goals. I really like when he gives assists, it is part of his game.
"But it is true that we expect more from him because he is Cristiano."
