Arsenal star Granit Xhaka warned about his discipline by Arsene Wenger as Gunners prepare for Champions League clash with Ludogorets

Swiss international midfielder Xhaka saw red in the weekend win over Swansea and took his tally to eight in two years

ARSENE WENGER admits he has to warn Granit Xhaka over his red mist.

Swiss midfielder Xhaka was dismissed in the Gunners' 3-2 win over Swansea, although replays suggested he was hard done by.

The £30million summer signing has a history of red and was handed his marching orders in his country's 2-0 defeat to Portugal last month.

It means that he has now picked up a mighty EIGHT reds in the last two years.

And when asked if he felt the need to speak to Xhaka over his dismissal on Saturday, Wenger said: "Yes.

"But it is one and we are not responsible for the red cards he got somewhere else.

"He made a foul that could have got him a yellow or red card and it was not meant to hurt anybody.

"But I feel he is intelligent enough to analyse that as well."

Wenger will now have to decide whether to start Xhaka in Arsenal's Champions League clash against Bulgarian minnows Ludogorets tomorrow night.

Francis Coquelin is back from a knee injury and could feature in his place.

And the Frenchman admits he is relishing to prospect of a battle for Xhaka's spot at the base of the Gunners' midfield.

He said: "This is Arsenal. It’s good for me, it can only improve me as a player.

“The good thing was after I got the injury, I could run back on the pitch if I wanted. I feel 100 per cent, I feel good.”

Wenger confirmed at his press conference that he has a fully-fit squad available to him, meaning that both Olivier Giroud and Aaron Ramsey could make their comebacks.
