Liverpool 0 Manchester United 0 player ratings: Ander Herrera bossed the midfield, but Daniel Sturridge looked a shell of his former self

DESPITE the pre-match excitement, Liverpool and Manchester United produced a dreadful 0-0 at Anfield.

After a first half snoozefest, Jurgen Klopp’s side pressed for an opening goal and Philippe Coutinho came closest with a long ranged effort which was denied by the goalkeeping heroics of David De Gea.

The closest the away side came was a Zlatan Ibrahimovic header from a wonderful Paul Pogba cross but the Swede couldn’t direct his header on target.

Mourinho will certainly be the happier of the two managers but which players performed well and who failed to rise to the big occasion?
