Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admits Arsenal exit could be on the cards because he wants more game time
England midfielder pledges immediate future to Gunners but revealed the time to re-evaluate career is approaching
ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN admits an Arsenal exit could be on the cards because he is unhappy at not playing.
The Gunners midfielder was used as a late sub for Alexis Sanchez in yesterday's thrilling 3-2 win over Swansea.
But the Ox, 23, said his desire for regular first-team football could force him to re-evaluate his career sooner rather than later.
He told Goals on Sunday: "I'd by lying if I wasn't going to sit here and say that it has crossed my mind that I need more game time.
"As a footballer you want to play every game. I'm not happy when I'm not playing.
"There is going to come a time in my career, and I think I'm approaching that, when I do need to be getting more regular football.
"But my focus completely and utterly now is on playing for Arsenal and still trying to break into the team when I get the opportunity, help out if I have to come off the bench, do what I did yesterday and come on and make a difference."
And despite saying he "loved" playing under Arsene Wenger- with the Frenchman guiding Arsenal to the top of the Prem table with Manchester City - Oxlade-Chamberlain admitted he will consider moving if he does not break into the starting XI.
He added: "My sole aim for now is to help Arsenal and keep pushing myself to play in this team because I love playing at Arsenal.
"But there is that in my mind that I do want to get more game time.
"There comes a time in your career where you have to re-evaluate things and think, 'Is that going to be here or elsewhere?'"
