Jose Mourinho is ‘proud’ of Manchester United stars Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard
The Red Devils duo both recently received their first international call ups
JOSE MOURINHO has revealed he is 'proud' of Jesse Lingard and Ander Herrera after they both received their first international call ups.
Herrera was included for the first time in Spain's squad whilst Lingard was also promoted to England's senior team under interim boss Gareth Southgate.
The Spaniard did not get a run out under Julen Lopetegui, whilst Lingard made his debut at Wembley in a 2-0 victory over Malta, as well as starting against Slovenia.
The Manchester United boss said: "I like my players to go to the international teams.

"I know that other managers don’t like it. I know that other managers they even try to stop them to go. I know there is sometimes also a bit of a fake injury to stop people to go.
"I’m not like that. I’m always very proud of my players to be selected.
"And especially these two that you refer to. One was a debutant, the other was a call-up to the Spanish team.
"It’s obviously important for them and it’s good for me and I think also the club feels proud of it."
Mourinho will hope the pair are raring to go on their return from international duty, as they face Liverpool on Monday evening at Anfield.
Herrera has featured in eight of United's 11 games so far this season whilst Lingard has only played on five occasions under Mourinho.
