Chelsea heroes Gianfranco Zola, Andriy Shevchenko and Carlo Cudicini hit the greens at the Hero Pro-Am golf tournament

The star-studded curtain-raiser for the British Masters on Wednesday raised funds for The Golf Foundation, the tournament’s official charity

CHELSEA heroes Gianfranco Zola, Andriy Shevchenko and Carlo Cudicini reunited for Wednesday’s Hero Pro-Am at the Grove.

The Stamford Bridge icons were joined by Liverpool legends Kenny Dalglish and Robbie Fowler – as well as former England cricketers Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Strauss – in the build-up to golf‘s British Masters.

The star-studded curtain-raiser for the start of Wednesday’s tournament raised funds for The Golf Foundation, the tournament’s official charity.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey was also signed up to play at the celebrity clash.

Championship director Jamie Birkmyre told the European Tour website: “We are delighted to welcome some of the world’s leaders in sport, entertainment and show business to the British Masters.

“The atmosphere generated at the Pro-Am between our European Tour professionals and the amateurs certainly makes for a fun and entertaining day out.

The Grove will host only its second European Tour event, having held a World Golf Championship tournament nine years ago, won by former world number one Tiger Woods.

Luke Donald, former world number one, returns to The Grove for this prestigious event in his role as tournament ambassador.
