Other Barcelona players to have achieved that feat include Ronaldo, Ronaldinho and Diego Maradona.

In doing so Lewandowksi has also got off the mark for his new club following his £42.5million switch from Bayern Munich, with the striker adding a second after half-time.

The Poland international was registered as a Barca player ahead of the clash against Rayo Vallecano last week.

But Lewandowski failed to mark his debut with a goal as the Spanish giants drew 0-0.

He did not take long to correct that against Sociedad, showing clever movement to slot in at the near post from Alejandro Balde's low cross.

The lead lasted just five minutes however as Manchester United and Chelsea target Frenkie de Jong lost the ball in a dangerous area.

Sweden international Aleksandr Isak was played through and he made no mistake with a clinical finish.

Barcelona hit back after the break with Ansu Fati producing a magical flick to set-up Ousmane Dembele who found the bottom corner to restore Barca's lead.

Moments later the birthday boy pounced again with another straight-forward goal from close range before Fati rounded off the 4-1 victory.

Lewandowski scored 50 goals in all competitions for Bayern last season but has had a difficult start in Spain.

As well as failing to win his first match, the striker had his £59,000 watch stolen outside the club's training ground this week.

The crafty thief opened Lewandowski's car door while he was busy signing autographs and posing for photos and made off with the high-end timepiece.

The striker sprinted after the culprit, who was eventually caught by police and the watch was then returned to a grateful Lewandowski.
