Georginio Wijnaldum a doubt for Liverpool’s huge clash with Manchester United after picking up hamstring injury for Holland

GEORGINIO WIJNALDUM could miss Liverpool's huge Premier League clash with Manchester United after picking up a hamstring injury for Holland.

The former Newcastle star limped gingerly out at the Amsterdam ArenA complaining of a problem in the back of his leg.

Either way it does not look good for Jurgen Klopp's squad as he returns to Melwood to get an assessment from the club's medical staff, with six days to prepare for the crunch clash.

Wijnaldum's United opponent in next Monday night's game Paul Pogba scored a screamer as France triumphed 1-0 over the Dutch in their World Cup group A clash.

The group contains Sweden, the French - both of whom are joint top on seven points, and Holland, who are all vying for one automatic place in Russia.

But £25million Wijnaldum will be gutted with this latest blow, after managing to nail down a regular starting place in the Liverpool side under Klopp.

He has played in 11 games this season, including the Reds' 2-1 win in Swansea before the international break.
