Man City wonderkid Kayky set to join Portuguese minnows Pacos de Ferreira on loan transfer to get 19-year-old game time

MANCHESTER CITY wonderkid Kayky is reportedly set to join Portuguese minnows Pacos de Ferreira in a bid to get some more game time.

Big things are expected of the talented teen who signed for Man City a year ago.

The club look set to let him go to Portugal to pick up some first-team minutes, which could be crucial for his development.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that the move is in full swing.

: “Manchester City winger Kayky is in Portugal today to undergo medical tests and sign contract with Paços de Ferreira.

“Loan move set to be completed. Kayky had proposals from Belgium and France but decision with City was to proceed with Portuguese side.”

Kakay, 19, signed from Brazilian side Fluminese in 2021.

He only made 22 appearances at the South American club but wowed Man City’s scouts enough that they signed the teen in April 2021 for £9m.

The forward has made one appearance for Pep Guardiola‘s senior side, while he has also represented Brazil at U16 level.

Kayky is a product of the Fluminense academy, which has produced the likes of Real Madrid legend Marcelo and Liverpool star Fabinho.

Dubbed the ‘next Neymar’ in his homeland, the forward is blessed with pace and close-control.

Kayky was top scorer in the Brasileirao Under-17 Championship.

Speaking a year ago, Fluminese U17 coach Guilherme Torres told : “Kayky is a player who stands out a lot for his technical quality, especially with regard to one-on-ones, and also in his quality in front of goal.

“He is also very intelligent, searches for empty spaces on the field and has a good ability to provide assists for his team-mates.

“In addition, he has a winning, competitive mentality, which is important for a high-level player. His resilience has grown as he has matured, and he is learning how to deal with adversity.”
