WAYNE ROONEY will be DROPPED for England's World Cup qualifier against Slovenia - according to reports.
Gareth Southgate is ready to drop the flagging Manchester United forward-turned-midfielder.
That means either Gary Cahill or Jordan Henderson will wear the England armband against their Group F opponents.
Sky Sports anchor Jim White tweeted: "It's my understanding that Wayne Rooney won't start in Slovenia - Cahill or Henderson will captain England."
