ENGLAND FANS joked Saturday evening that the best Englishman on display at Wembley was Malta's goalkeeper Andrew Hogg.

The shot stopper played out of his skin as England dominated the match but Three Lions fans were shocked a man born in Kingston upon Thames in London was denying England at Wembley.

Hogg, 31, pulled off a string of fine saves to keep the final score at just 2-0 as England peppered his goal all evening.

England fans just wished he was available to pull on a Three Lions shirt, after his stunning display at Wembley.

A journalist for The Sun, Gary Stonehouse said: "Best performance from an Englishman on the pitch by a mile...Andrew Hogg having a blinder in the Malta net. Doing Kingston-upon-Thames proud."

Also with Joe Hart being shipped out on loan from Manchester City to Torino, England fans think he has the talent to fill the England international's shoes.

With one fan saying he's better than Joe Hart: "Malta's keeper Hogg is a better shot stopper than Joe Hart#ENGMAL"

Whilst another wants to swap the two keepers: "Hogg was born in England, let's swap Joe Hart for him."

But one fan feels Hogg is one of numerous keepers who are better than Hart: "Andrew Hogg is another English goalkeeper who's better than Joe Hart. #ENGMAL"
