FRANK LAMPARD says his dream job would be boss of Chelsea.
The Stamford Bridge legend will start his coaching badges when he hangs up his boots – and would love to manage his old club.
He said: “If I was good enough, if they wanted me and it was the right time.
“As a Chelsea man or not, the job is one of the pinnacles of football, they are one of the top clubs in the world now. And I’m a Chelsea man. I wouldn’t have to move house!
“It might be a different route for me and might take a while but the dream would be to manage Chelsea one day.”
Lamps, 38, now in his second season at New York City, reckons there should be a fast-track for players to get their coaching badges.
He said: “When you’ve played for your country or a lot of times at the top level, you have got to say to people ‘instead of going down the media route, here is a great way for you to get your badges quickly’.

“And flood it with more young English coaches, with people who have played. No disrespect, but if you are a school teacher coaching kids you can’t say you’ve got to do the same course as someone who has played 100 times or 50 times for their country.”
Lamps, speaking to Soccer AM, initially did not fancy management, but has changed his mind.
He said: “I’m more back onto it but the problem is getting my badges now. And having time to do it when I’m still playing.
“As soon as I finish I would like to take it up and maybe be a manager. It’s hard as I only want the Chelsea job!”
