ENGLAND SINGSATION

Arsene Wenger insists he’s had no contact over Three Lions job and says role should go to an Englishman who can sing the national anthem

Arsenal boss Wenger has teased the Three Lions over the role in the past by saying he could be open to it down the line

ARSENE WENGER insists he's had no contact from FA chiefs over the England job.

And the Arsenal boss is adamant that the role should be handed to an Englishman - because they would be able to sing the national anthem better than him!

The Frenchman has teased the FA in the past and claimed before the international break that it would be possible for him to "one day" manage England.

Yesterday Gunners chief executive Ivan Gazidis appeared to give Three Lions bosses a glimmer of hope by claiming "Arsenal is not Arsene Wenger. They’re not one in the same thing.”
Wenger, who turns 67 at the end of the month, has spent 20 years with the Gunners with his contract up at the end of the season.

But he says the FA have made no attempt to lure him to Wembley after interim boss Gareth Southgate has seen the Three Lions through their next four games.

And although he has previously admitted he knows the words to the 'God Save the Queen', Wenger says the gig should go to someone who can belt it out with pride.

Wenger told beIN SPORTS: "There has been no contact.

"There is nothing really to add. Personally I want England to do well.
