So as soon as he finished playing in West Ham's 1-1 draw against Middlesbrough at the London Stadium, he decided to jump in his car and journey up to the midlands.

And the midfielder, who is part of the England squad for the World Cup qualifier against Malta on Saturday, arrived just in time to hand the prize over.

Antonio was still in his Hammers tracksuit when he reached the charity ball raising money for the Libby Mae Little Angels appeal.

It was set up by Richard and Charlotte Sharratt after their daughter Libby Mae died from a heart defect just two weeks after she was born.

The appeal has already raised more than £135,000 helping other families.

Antonio said: "I knew they wanted it for the auction that night, so I thought I'd drop it off after the game before carrying on to see my family."
