Barcelona news: Luis Suarez set for £100,000-a-week wage increase to match Neymar… but pair are still WAY behind Lionel Messi

Uruguayan and Brazilian strikers will be level on £272,000-a-week, while Barcelona's No.1 superstar brings home £360,000

LUIS SUAREZ is set to sign a one-year contract extension at Barcelona, which will see him earn an extra £100,000-a-week and match Neymar’s wages, according to reports in Catalonia.

Since leaving Liverpool for the Nou Camp in 2014, the Uruguayan has gone from strength-to-strength and was the joint European Golden Shoe winner last season.

Luis Suarez will equal Neymar’s pay with new deal worth £272,000-a-week

And reveal Barca are ready to reward him with a bumper pay rise.

Suarez’s current deal runs out in 2019 and earns him around £170,000-a-week.

However, a new contract until 2020 will see his pay packet increase to a whopping £272,000 every seven days — which is the same as strike partner, Neymar.

Luis Suarez, Neymar and Neymar all earn at least double every other Barcelona player

Though, the Brazilian’s deal is until 2021.

Still, the pairs’ wages are still dwarfed by Lionel Messi’s.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner is the highest paid player at the club, earning a stunning £360,000-a-week.

Suarez and Neymar are still way ahead of club legends, Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets — bringing home DOUBLE their wages.

However, the two La Masia graduates still earn a tidy £136,000-a-week.

Three-time Champions League winner, Gerard Pique is on just shy of a £100,000-a-week, with a pay packet of £98,000 every seven days.

Jordi Alba and Arda Turan, meanwhile, were the least paid first team players — earning ‘just’ £68,000-a-week.
