It is believed Spurs were looking for £26million to let Bergwijn leave having bought the Dutchman for £27m in 2020.

Bergwijn is thought to have already agreed personal terms and is set to sign a five-year deal.

Reports claimed both Manchester United and Everton had been willing to pay £35m for Bergwijn, but the player himself wanted to sign for Ajax.
