Man Utd stars hitting the gym and bulking up in bid to impress new manager Ten Hag before pre-season camp

MANCHESTER UNITED'S players are hitting the gym as they bid to get into shape ahead of new manager Erik ten Hag's pre-season training camp.

The Dutch coach is set to arrive at Old Trafford on Sunday, with pre-season preparations beginning a day later.

And his Man Utd stars have been putting in the graft in the gym as they look to impress him from the get-go.

Marcus Rashford, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay, Anthony Elanga and Axel Tuanzebe have all shared snaps of them bulking up during the summer.

They will be hoping the work on their condition will help them on the pitch as they seek to bounce back after the team's dreadful 2021-22 campaign.

Ex-Ajax manager Ten Hag will meet a group of Man Utd stars when they check back for pre-season next week.

He won't meet the bulk of his squad until later, however, with those recently away on international duty set to have an extended holiday.

But Rashford and fellow Englishman Jadon Sancho are two players the Dutch manager is expected to meet as they were left out of Gareth Southgate's squad for the Nations League.

Ten Hag will not meet any new signings as United are yet to secure any new arrivals in the summer window.

The Red Devils are interested in the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Antony, but haven't been able to get either deal over the line.

Meanwhile, fan unrest has steadily been growing off the pitch.

United CEO Richard Arnold recently admitted that last season was a "f***ing nightmare" while meeting with fans at a pub in Cheshire.

Elsewhere, the Glazers infuriated fans by receiving the bulk of £11million in dividends paid to shareholders on Friday.

And supporters are planning an anti-Glazer protest before Ten Hag's first home game against Rayo Vallecano on July 31 - a friendly match held at Old Trafford.
