Arsenal transfer news: Hector Bellerin to be offered bumper new five-year contract to end Barcelona and Man City interest
ARSENAL are set to offer Hector Bellerin a new five-year contract.
Barcelona and Manchester City have been linked with moves for the Spaniard who has emerged as one of the best right-backs in the world.
And Gunners chiefs are eager to begin talks with Bellerin's representatives after the international break to tie him down to a long term deal.
Bellerin, 21, has three years left on his current contract but Arsene Wenger is keen to keep the youngster for the long term.
Barcelona have upped their interest in the player that started his career at the Nou Camp before moving to the Emirates in 2011.
And Barca president Jordi Mastre did not hide his desire to bring Bellerin back to his boyhood club.
“Wenger convinced him to move [in 2011] and promised him something which we couldn’t.
“We could not promise him that within two years he would be playing in Dani Alves’ place."
Talks are also still open between Arsenal and Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez which the club hope will help convince Bellerin to stay in London.
