CHRIS COLEMAN is desperate for Wales to ditch their ‘unlucky’ grey away kit.
The Dragons have lost all three matches when wearing their charcoal and lime green strip.
Since the kit was released almost a year ago, Wales have been beaten by Ukraine, England and Euro 2016 winners Portugal in their changed colours.
And boss Coleman, 46, would love to axe the grey for good — just like Sir Alex Ferguson famously did at Manchester United during HALF-TIME.
Ahead of the Dragons’ World Cup qualifying trip to Austria on Thursday, Cookie said: “I will be happy if I never see that away kit again.
“The traditional red is what we always want to play in — we love being in that. It is really something when you look at it.”

Coleman’s men were given permission by Russia to wear their home kit for the group-stage clash at Euro 2016.
But when they asked the Portuguese to do the same in the semi-finals in France this summer, the request was rejected. Now Wales hope to persuade Austria — who also wear red at home — into a last-minute switch before Thursday’s Group D showdown in Vienna.
Coleman, who is still without crocked Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, said: “Portugal made us wear the away kit at the Euros, even though they were in their own away kit.
“Russia, thankfully, had allowed us to wear our red when we beat them in the group stages.
“If you are Austria, it is something you would look at if you know the opposition prefer playing in a certain colour.” Coleman’s comments will evoke memories of United ditching their own away kit 20 years ago.
Back then, Fergie ordered his Red Devils players to remove their ‘invisible’ grey kit at half-time and turn out for the second half in blue-and-white as United lost 3-1 at Southampton.
And Coleman, whose side beat Moldova 4-0 in their opening World Cup qualifier last month, admits his stars, including talisman Gareth Bale, have not been impressed with going grey.
He added: “The players will talk about it and the Austrians will know about it — they should know about it.
“In years gone by, I would have said that players do not care what kit they wear — but they do.
“I’m not sure if they will play in red or white. If we have to wear it, we have to deal with it, but ideally we will be in red.”
