Fredericks, 29, is available having left West Ham after four years at the East London club.

Meanwhile Rothwell, 27, is leaving Blackburn at the end of his contract this month.

Furthermore, Scott Parker's side are set to land midfielder Marcus Tavernier from Championship side Middlesbrough.

Tavernier, 23, has just one year left on his deal at the Riverside meaning Bournemouth can sign the Boro academy graduate for a lower fee.

Parker is determined to overhaul his back line this summer following automatic promotion from the Championship - with a central defender and a left-back also wanted.

There is interest in West Ham youngster Emmanuel Longelo, though there are a number of clubs chasing the full-back.

The Cherries also want to add a forward to support and compete with Dominic Solanke and admire Blackburn's Ben Brereton Diaz, though the defence remains a priority.

Fredericks had been linked with a return to former club Fulham, whom he left on a free to join West Ham in 2018.

But former Cottagers boss Parker looks to have pipped his old employers to the rapid defender.

Middlesbrough had also been tipped to make a move for the former West Ham man.

Fredericks was used sparingly by David Moyes during the 2021-22 campaign with Czech Republic ace Vladimir Coufal preferred instead.

Th ex-Tottenham defender appeared in just seven Premier League matches.
