BARC TO THE TOP

How Barcelona could line up next season with stunning Robert Lewandowski and Mo Salah strike force alongside Aubameyang

BARCELONA are plotting transfer swoops for Robert Lewandowski and Mo Salah as they bid to return to the top of European football.

The Catalan giants have endured a difficult couple of seasons partly due to their dire financial state and the departure of Lionel Messi.

Club president Joan Laporta believes that things are looking up under Xavi and wants to bolster his squad over the summer.

Barca signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres in January and Laporta isn't going to stop there.

Reports claim that the LaLiga side are aiming to prise Mo Salah from Liverpool.

And Bayern Munich star Lewandowski has admitted that he is determined to leave the perennial Bundesliga champions amid Barca's interest.

Signing the incredible attacking duo would put Barcelona in a position to compete for major honours.

Laporta, meanwhile, is also bidding to supplement the rest of his side with cheap signings such as Chelsea trio Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen and Marcos Alonso.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen appears close to untouchable at Barca and will stick around between the sticks.

Blues duo Azpilicueta and Alonso could replace Sergino Dest and Jordi Alba as Xavi's full-backs.

Sergio Busquets will stick around as a veteran presence in midfield, particularly if Frenkie de Jong departs for Man United.

Exciting youngsters Pedri and Gavi will be joined in midfield by new recruit from AC Milan Franck Kessie.

The Ivorian is fresh from his Serie A title success with Milan last term.

Barca are aiming to poach Salah from Liverpool and are reportedly urging the Egyptian to run down his contract with the Reds.

The winger would fit perfectly on their right flank, with former Arsenal forward Aubameyang wide on the left.

Lewandowski, 33, would complete a devastating attacking trio. He said last week: "My era at Bayern is over. I don't see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore."

The Pole is believed to favour a move to the Nou Camp.

Competing for further attacking minutes will be the likes of Torres, Memphis Depay and Ansu Fati - although soon to be free agent Ousmane Dembele appears likely to join Chelsea.
