TAMMY ABRAHAM has received his first call-up to the England Under-21s squad to replace Marcus Rashford.
Aidy Boothroyd, who fills the U21 manager’s position vacated by new England boss Gareth Southgate following the Sam Allardyce scandal, has named a 22-man party for upcoming Euro qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Manchester United striker Rashford looks certain to return to the senior side after Boothroyd left the teen hotshot out of his squad.
But he will be hoping the free-scoring Abraham can make a similar impact to Rashford’s hat-trick for the U21s earlier this month when he joins up with the Young Lions next week.
Abraham is joint-top scorer in the Championship for Bristol City after joining the Robins on-loan from Chelsea in the summer and has ten goals in total so far.

The striker is well-known to Boothroyd, who managed him at U19s level last season when he guided England to the European Championship semi-finals in July.
Boothroyd said: "I’ve managed a lot of these players before with the U20s a couple of years ago, so I do know most of them.
"They’re obviously both very important games and there are no easy matches in international football.”
Derby goalkeeper Jonathan Mitchell has been named in an England squad for the first time.
The youngster will be competing with Sunderland’s Jordan Pickford after he missed last month’s 6-1 win over Norway through injury and Newcastle United’s Freddie Woodman.
England only need a point from their last two qualifiers to seal their spot as group winners and a place at next summer’s tournament in Poland.
