VILLARREAL defender Pau Torres has rubbished speculation he is on the verge of leaving the club amid rumours he is close to joining Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford in the summer with new boss Erik ten Hag believed to be a huge admirer.
According to , club chiefs have internally discussed the Spaniard as a transfer target with Ten Hag.
It is claimed the 2021 Europa League winner was shortlisted as an option last year but the club turned to Raphael Varane from Real Madrid instead.
Reports have stated that the Red Devils are open to triggering Torres' £51million release.
But the centre-back has since broken his silence regarding his future as he stated that he has received no approach from United or any other potential suitor.

Speaking to , he said: "Right now there is nothing at all, there is talk of many things like every year.
"I have peace of mind of being where they want me, at the club of my life and I have this offer right now that I value as very positive.
"There is nothing right now, the only thing I have is the offer from Villarreal, so I am very calm."
He added: "It's something I've always talked about with the president, that different situations could arise.

“The club loves me and I am very grateful. I know that I can stay here for many more years because the affection is mutual.
