'Unsettled' Liverpool striker involved in the Reds last six Premier League goals against the struggling Welsh team

DANIEL STURRIDGE must start for Liverpool at Swansea in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

The England striker may only have scored twice this season but he seems to have what it takes to down the struggling Swans.

The Reds need to maintain their surge for a top four spot - and Sturridge is just the man to do it.

He has been directly involved in six goals in six previous Premier League appearances against Swansea for Liverpool, contributing four goals and two assists.

There is some hope for Swansea. Their 3-1 victory over Jurgen Klopp's men last May ended a run of eight games - two draws, six defeats - in all competitions without a win against Liverpool.

And Saturday's visitors have won only one of their five visits to Liberty Stadium in the Premier League, managing two draws, two defeats and a solitary 1-0 win in March 2015.

Sturridge was on the bench for the Reds 5-1 victory over Hull City last time out - and didn't score either in the 4-1 win over defending champions Leicester City.

His only strikes in 2016/17 came in the 5-0 EFL Cup thrashing of Championship-newcomers Burton Albion.

An amid suggestions that the ex-Chelsea man is unsettled at Anfield, where Klopp has lately preferred Divock Origi and Roberto Firmini to Sturridge up front, there are reports that West Ham, Sunderland and Stoke City are expected to be in the running for him in the next transfer window.

Last season, Sturridge was restricted to just eight starts having been constantly hampered by injuries.

And despite seemingly having had time to recover during pre-season, there are still questions over his fitness -  especially when Jurgen Klopp has opted to substitute him in each of his starts to date.

But fans recall his 22 Premier League goals alongside Luis Suarez in 2013/14 when Liverpool finished as runners-up.

And Swansea supporters must fear Sturridge's involvement in those six goals in six previous Premier League outings against them.

Not to mention Swans' beleaguered boss Francesco Guidolin whose job is under threat after just one league win this term.
