Thailand introduces the world’s first non-rectangular football field
It's a job taking a corner but Bangkok builds unusually shaped play areas in overpopulated areas where space is limited
THAILAND has produced the world's first non-rectangular football field.
The 'unusual football field' was introduced in a densely populated area of Bangkok in the Khlong Toei district.
Property developer AP Thailand partnered with digital agency CJ Works to create a series of play areas across the nation's capital that operate within minimal recreational spaces.
It's hardly Premier League but the imaginative project aims to help foster creativity and enhance relationships among people in the community.
Some of the venues were previously filled with rubbish but have been transformed into practical football pitches.
The traditional 105 x 68metre rectangular field has been re-invented to create a play space that can 'change one's life'.
Apparently, the football fields have been designed to allow fair play between teams.
