ARSENAL fans are jumping for joy after Mesut Ozil was reportedly handed the number 10 shirt by Arsene Wenger.
The German playmaker has signed a lucrative new contract, according to newspaper , and will finally be able to wear his favourite jersey.
Jack Wilshere used to wear the 10 before being packed off to Bournemouth on loan, but Gooners everywhere reckon Wenger has made the right choice.
Ozil had less than two years to run on his old deal, leading to speculation he was planning a grand exit at the end of the current campaign.
But by signing fresh terms, the midfielder clearly believes Arsenal are going places following an impressive start to the season.
Alexis Sanchez is also running out of time on his contract, but Ozil’s latest move could tempt the Chilean to follow suit.
