Championship round-up: Brentford buzzing as they smash Reading and Bristol City edge Leeds
BRENTFORD smashed Reading’s six-match unbeaten run to bits as they thumped the Royals 4-1 at Griffin Park.
Joshua Clarke, Lasse Vibe and Maxine Colin fired the buzzing Bees into a commanding lead before Yann Kermorgant pulled a goal back for the visitors.
But Scott Hogan’s seventh of the season finished off the scoring the move the hosts up to fourth place in the Championship.
Bristol City are just behind them on goal difference after Marlon Pack notched the matchwinner in their 1-0 win over Leeds United.
They moved level on points with Birmingham City after they were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Preston.

Alex Baptiste opened the scoring for Preston before Ryan Shotton equalised. Brum fell behind again to Daniel Johnson’s free-kick but Che Adams volleyed home to level.
Sheffield Wednesday are also on 17 points after Steven Fletcher’s strike at Blackburn earned them a 1-0 triumph.

Wigan ended their recent bad run with a 2-1 home win over Wolves. Will Grigg was on fire as his strike two minutes from time secured the points after Adam Le Fondre’s early goal was levelled by visiting defender Prince Oniangue.
At the top of the table, Barnsley held Aston Villa to a 1-1 draw and Huddersfield moved back top after a 2-1 win over Rotherham.
Cardiff were defeated 2-0 at home by Derby, who suspended boss Nigel Pearson earlier in the day, and Ipswich fought-out a goalless draw with Brighton.
Newcastle welcome Norwich to St James’ Park on Wednesday, with the Canaries knowing victory will lift them back to top spot.
