WHAT A DIFFERENCE

IN the same 1989-90 season, Man Utd finished the season with a goal difference of -1.

Thanks largely to Sir Alex Ferguson's heroics, United have never finished the season without boasting a positive goal difference since.

Following the 1-0 defeat at Palace, United ended the season with a goal difference of exactly 0.

That means United failed to finish a campaign without a positive goal difference for the first time in 32 years.

In conceding 57 goals in 2021-22, United endured their worst defensive season since the 1978-79 campaign (63).

AWAY DAY BLUES

IN slumping to defeat in South London, United ensured their horror away run continued.

Under Ralf Rangnick, the Red Devils have now lost six consecutive league matches on the road.

This is the first time that has happened since March 1981... more than 40 years ago.

LIVER-FOOLS

THERE'S only one thing worse than losing to your biggest rivals... losing BADLY to your biggest rivals.

And United were thumped by Liverpool TWICE in the same season.
