And the  suggest incoming manager Ten Hag is prepared to back the Portugal star, 23, after his breakthrough season.

Ten Hag is expected to offload the former Crystal Palace ace - on loan or permanently.

And ex-United boss Jose Mourinho is also keen on AWB for Roma.

It's all a huge about-turn in fortunes for the two defenders.

Dalot's more attacking abilities have rarely been given an extended run following his arrival from Porto in 2018 until this campaign.

He spent 2020-21 on loan at AC Milan, leading to interest from AC Milan, Fiorentina and Borussia Dortmund.

But now United chiefs are thought to be spreading the message Dalot is staying.

Instead it's out-and-out defender AWB who no longer fits United's needs.

Old Trafford legend Roy Keane is among those backing that verdict.

The former United hardman said earlier this season: "Wan-Bissaka, I don’t even think Palace would take him back!

"He’s not good enough for Manchester United. No feel for the ball, decision making.

"But what Manchester United have always had over the years is players with character, with personalities - I don’t see it with this group."
