IAN AYRE will take over as general manager of 1860 Munich when he leaves Anfield at the end of this season.
Ayre revealed in March that he would quit as Liverpool CEO when his contract expired after a decade with the Reds.
He will remain in football after his Premier League departure with a leading role at the 2.Bundesliga club.
And he even had a hand in helping them appoint sporting director Thomas Eichin in the summer.
Ayre initially joined Liverpool as commercial chief during the ill-fated Tom Hicks and George Gillett reign.
He was promoted two years ago by current owners Fenway Sports Group.
FSG have yet to announce a replacement for the 53-year-old when he leaves in five months.
