Sam Allardyce and a pint of white wine? Twitter explodes into overtime over England boss and his large drink during transfer sting
Big Sam labelled a 'national hero'...for his perceived drinking habit during £400,000 sting
THERE is nothing like a career-defining error to get Twitter shakin' and movin' - and Sam Allardyce's apparent fall from grace is no exception.
Claims he used his job as Three Lions boss to land a £400,000 deal have driven social media into overtime.
Big Sam was caught on film by The Telegraph appearing to abuse his position to help businessmen “get around” FA transfer rules while sitting comfortably in a bar booth with a pint of wine on the table in front of him.
The former Bolton, Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham and Sunderland manager's catastropic decision to meet and allegedly advise 'businessmen' on how to circumvent transfer regulations led to many a call for his sacking as England manager.
But is he drinking a pint of wine?
This is the question that has grabbed the public imagination. In one screen grab from a secret film, it appears he might be.
