The snap showed Ronaldo staring lovingly at his daughter while cradling her in his arms, along with the caption: “Forever Love.”

The girl is Ronaldo’s fifth child, with the United star also father to Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, 11, Eva, 4, Matteo, 4, and Alana Martina, 4.

The Portuguese star was given compassionate leave by Manchester United following the sad news of his child’s passing.

When he returned from the hospital, he wrote on social media: “Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally together with us.

“We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures.

“Your support is very important and we all felt the love and respect that you have for our family.

“Now it’s time to be grateful for the life that we’ve just welcomed into this world.”
