Sergio Ramos gave away a penalty before heading in the equaliser as Zinedine Zidane’s men failed break the record for consecutive victories in La Liga.

And later that same evening, Barca were pegged back at the Nou Camp.

Ivan Rakitic headed the home side into the lead in the first half before it all started to go wrong.

First Sergio Busquets and Messi were taken off injured — and then Angel Correa levelled the scores.

Barcelona’s attacking trio actually made history at the weekend when all three netted before half time en route to a 5-1 victory against new boys Leganes.

While for Real Madrid, it was the first time the BBC started together in the league.

Alvaro Morata’s arrival has allowed Zidane to rotate the trio.
